The corner bed is a "short" Queen. It is a good size and the corner placement doesn't bother us. But that is a personal choice. This placement does help with the rest of the layout of the motor home.

We have DirecTV at home and in the MH, separate accounts for each. Seems the account is tied to the receiver. Don't know about Dish.

Yes, a lot of places don't have cable. Our "home base" at Shenandoah Acres (Stuart's Draft, VA, got here today) is a case in point. Also when we dry camp like at some Bluegrass festivals. We have stayed at more places without cable than with it.

Dang, Amarillo was a trip this time. Drove straight toward a supercell, ducked into a campground late afternoon. Weather radio and radar showed wall clouds in the area. It was ripe for tornados! We made it OK!
