Mark, I don't think the Asian "Flu" will hurt HLIT. Their major overseas customers are in Canada and the U.K.,with some exposure to Hong Kong and Argentina. I found it very interesting that they were looking for Cantonese speaking and writing engineers. There is a huge fiber optic build at this time in Northern China, not sure of HLIT's involvement if any. Well HLIT is small, and is the best at what they do,build technologically superior fiber optic networks, like 21st Centuries. They are about 30% cheaper than most vendors, and there products are more space saving. I found it interesting that they buy chips from Stanford Telecom(STII), and some lasers from Uniphase. Like most networkers, they outsource most of their components, Jabil circuit makes alot of CSCO's,ACT manufacturing a lot of BAY's and COMS,etc... The capacity will be acquired from contract manufacturers. Im think we are at the bottom of the range, and can only see upward movement starting early next year, with LMDS news, and HFC news influencing the share price. Next year will be a good year for fiber optic component companies, and LMDS will be the hot topic. Tim |
