It tells what the co-solvent is: 2-methyltetrahydrofuran. I don't know if this is made in the process, but clearly it is added to help blend the ethanol with the C5-C7 hydrocarbon mixture. I'm not surprised details of the process are not disclosed. In my experience, product patents are more easily enforced, and process patents are minimized (to protect trade secrets).
