Dear Carolyn,

This star is a visual indicator that you've had a new recommendation of a post of yours.

If you drill down into and view the recommendations, the star disappears. There is also a reset button on the recommended post list page to clear out the new rec counter without actually revisiting the pages to see who recommended each of your recommended posts.

The star rotates once upon page load or when you get a new post recommendation.
