Great points. I strongly agree with you. I also strongly agreed with comments that you posted in the past where you said that yelling "Police" is also a good idea, because of how it surprises and catches the perp off guard. IIRC, I believe that you said that it wouldn't be clear if you were yelling that you are the police or calling for the police. The perp would probably think that you are the police, but you could easily say later, "No, I was calling for any police within earshot to render emergency help." Great points in both posts!
