As the old proverb goes, a picture can tell a thousand words. This graph is truly very scary, the grinch has moved to Japan. I find the article written by Ralph Acampora posted earlier to be quite curious. He projects a bear market in early 1998, and then a quick renewal of the neverending bull market later in the year. This was brought out with much fanfare by the CNBC announcers as a circulating rumour on the market floor before the guru spoke. The message to the sheep was do not worry about a corection of 20%, invest for the long haul. Have others noted the constant bombardment of mutual fund commercials lately? The latest fantasy was that our trade defecit in the U.S. dropped despite all the Asia devaluations, the same people that doctor the CPI report must be pulling down overtime on this one.
