What's missing is the notion that AMD's 3D extensions make MMX look like the greatest thing since sliced bread. MMX is useful, widely supported, but hardly a compelling reason to buy. AM3D is all but useless save a few games for which the development was funded with the spare cash AMD had lying around. The question you ought to be asking is when will AMD break $10; not when the new 3D version of Packman with AMD support is due out.
