I did just that.

I talked to Compaq's Investor Relations department and was given the following information.

Retail sales vary seasonally from 15% to 20% of Compaq's total revenue.

The per cent of Compaq's total sales that is sub $1,000 is "single digits".

The person wouldn't elaborate beyond "single digits", but clearly the sub $1,000 PC represents LESS THAN 10% of Compaq's Total revenue.
