He feels betrayed by Obama and says he’s a schemer, and the rest of the family largely feels the same way. He says Dreams From My Father has many falsehoods in it. One major disappointment was when Obama turned down a request from the family to help return his father’s sister’s body to Kenya for a proper burial. The request, $20,000, was way too much in his opinion. Malik took a month to raise the funds himself and he had her flown home. Malik says that Barack hasn’t contribute a single penny to the foundation set up in his father’s name and that he used the Kenya story as an exotic political backstory. He says he has no connection, compassion nor loyalty to any of his Kenyan family or roots.
