Lately my desktop (about 3 years old) has begun to moan and groan rather loudly at initial bootup. This noise goes away by the time the machine actually boots and is ready for use. After that, no unusual sounds and all seems well.
After reading about the very inexpensive new HD from Amazon, I'm wondering if that might be a good idea. I "think" I have a complete backup on my new external HD. What would be the procedure for me to install that new Amazon HD and move my backup over onto it.... then be able to "continue to march"?

Aside to Josh... I'm now 60 years past my first day in boot camp. Hard to believe!!!
