I can't help but think these announcements have a little something to do with our bitching about no announcements. I admit that the company tends to drip news rather than hit firm marks, but at least they're keeping us informed of new marketing strategies for their airview and cruise servers -- a business that no one else has had much success in yet. It's probably an alliance strategy devised by the new head of marketing.

I buy stocks but rarely sell them. My feeling is that the core business is sound, and they're attempting a new strategy to develop this new sector. They've got a good demo fleet in progress, and an alliance with a company that outfits planes. So far, so good.

A killer announcement would be nice, of course, but laying the groundwork for some real contracts in this new area of 'transit entertainment' (the educational server business is doing fine) is crucial to longterm success.

Just look at earnings when they come out, and try to predict whether or not this additional revenue stream will materialize. I think it will, especially now that everyone is competing with Virgin for good, individualized in-flight services.
