I work at a place in which I felt two of the three people I work with directly tried to run me off for about the first two years. I'm still there, and hopefully, though we don't invite each other over for dinner, I have their respect and to some degree they have mine.

When I moved to the Ozarks, I had no idea that a Yankee was something akin to leporsy. It is kind of interesting to me that after a hundred plus years, some of the natives are still a little miffed over the civil war.
