Hi Chris,

The 12-18 press release on the Diffusion Air Manager system sounds interesting. Using Diffusion Air Manager technology, a zinc-air battery could deliver 80% of its capacity after nearly two years of storage.

The unique design of the Diffusion Air Manager system offers a number of advantageous features for the design of zinc-air batteries:

-----uses small, light weight components suitable for application in SMALL BATTERY design

----low power cosnsumption is suitable for use in batteries for HAND-HELD ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS

----LOW COST is suitable for use in PRIMARY BATTERIES

Dr. Robert A Powers a battery industry consultant and author of "Battery Industry Developments" commented "Limitations in storage life have largely restricted the use of zinc-air technology to hearing aids where the battery's energy is consumed before humidity variations in air cause failure. An improvement in storage life could allow zinc-air batteries to used in MANY NEW MARKETS AND APPLICATIONS!!!!

CAMCORDERS, CELLULAR PHONES, TRANSCEIVERS, PORTABLE CD PLAYERS, HAND HELD COMPUTERS, PORTABLE LIGHTING AND MILITARY COMMUNICATION DEVICES are some of the products that could use the zinc-air technology fo both primary and rechargeable batteries alike.

Possibly a glimmer of hope. : -) Al
