Glenn, Regarding Japan: It could be that their economy is in a toilet, showing no growth for years. It could be that their banks and insurance companies are nearly insolvent and only massive sleight of hand is keeping their doors open. It could be that you have not even begun to see Japanese companies report the losses on their huge investments in the Asia "Tigers". It could be that they have zero confidence in their neighbor, South Korea, and the idiot that just won the election there. Or maybe it is something worse than all that. P.F.
