5/1/15 Contest update
I’m back from Portugal and quite a bit more of me has returned than what left. Contest portfolios also put on significant weight in April but shed the excess quickly. Hopefully, I’ll be able to shed my own excess just as fast.
At today’s close, the Contest median was up 18.18% YTD (vs. up 21.78% YTD 4 Fridays ago). The Nasdaq Biotech Index did manage to retain part of its early April gain and was up 13.24% YTD (vs. up 11.85% YTD 4 Fridays ago), while the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index was up 14.34% YTD (vs. up 18.09% YTD 4 Fridays ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 5.69% YTD (vs. up 3.19% YTD 4 Fridays ago).
MCBIO’s portfolio, up 56.17% YTD, jumped from 4th place into the Contest lead. Boosted by its Europen biotech gains, OLIVIER’s portfolio, up 53.73% YTD, vaulted into second place and OHM’s portfolio, up 50.83% YTD, dropped to third place.
At Friday's close, 47 of the 51 Contest portfolios were still in the black with 32 beating the NBI and 30 beating the SPSIBI. The 206 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 13.04%.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks since my last update. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments: CBRX symbol change to JNP.
(All corrections, especially adjustments for buyouts & splits, greatly appreciated.)
Enjoy the first weekend of May biotechies!
Peace & good health,
Bulba

(Sorry for screwed up formatting, but SI did something weird while I was gone. I'll try to fix things by next week.)
