it has PCs, Consumer electronics, Personal communication devices, servers, networks, powerful NT based workstation ... etc, it is quite different, and tomorrow will be even different

Ed,
It may, in part, explain why CPQ gets trashed. Company that spreads itself too wide/thin can't expect high P/E. Market will treat CPQ with P/E in the 13-20 range,like HP, IBM. Stock price still has to go way down to get market happy. CPQ may never see P/E 37 again.
