I have been working with spinal injury cases for YEARS.

In this discussion it might be worth the time to consider my opinion of the damages that the victim suffered. AND the timeline I estimate for the damages to have taken place.

For instance, the victim asked for medical help several times. Then had his ability to make those requests removed by the crushing of the voicebox. This was well after the initial damage.

Looking at the video of him being dragged into the van, he showed a loss of control in his neck. Damage had taken place in the back of the neck. The mussels normally used to keep the head upright were only connected to broken bone fragments.

A plausible theory would be that one of the bicycle cops kicked him in the back of the neck to bring him down.

While that is a grave injury, the blows that killed the victim were delivered in the van or at one of the stops where they removed him from the van and then returned him.
