I don't think he wants to start a war.

But could Texas leave the US? It could. If the country continues to decline, and I believe it is all but irreversible at this point, it makes sense for stronger states to leave. Texas could be the first and most prominent, although Alaska would be smart to consider it as well. At the very least, Texas could wield its economic power to insist on competent economic policy.

50 years from now I could definitely envision Texas as a separate country. You just have to get past the knee jerk reaction of Texans who are very proud Americans. But when it comes down to survival, they really have to consider their own viability.
