I'm glad you were able to test out the product yourself. My experience differed from yours, in that when the button was pressed, two more active tweeter-looking speakers became active to further enrichen the sound, with 3D characteristics. Then again, I was listening to a CD, not the radio. I'm glad though you have with you your criticisms about the product. I'm still continuing to look around for others with the Q logo, but haven't found any since the day I saw that other boombox.

As for explanations, the only one that comes to mind would be the positioning of the audio device when it was activated. I know when I stopped by the QSound web page, they have instructions on how to receive the best quality from the sound samples within their library. But I'm not here to keep you in the stock; I'm not on their payroll as a salesman or a stock promoter. I was initially attracted to the company due to the digital hearing aid that is set to make the currently-analog devices obsolete. Production starts in the first quarter of '98; it would be too bad to leave behind the company when they will finally be within the folds of profitability. Good luck with your decision.

Regards,

Rainier
