The True Story of European Austerity
First of all, if someone stated that the sky is a pretty blue because of liberal policies, over nite, the right would have ten 'experts' refuting that comment. None of which would make logical sense but all you wingers would eat it up.......hook, line and sinker.
European governments that have cut both spending and taxes as part of their austerity programs have higher rates of economic growth than their neighbors
This is utter BS. Countries like Spain and Greece which were forced to cut spending, reduced salaries and pensions and have not raised taxes since 2011, and both countries continue to be in recession:

Forbes, a winger publication, argues that if Greece doesn't have a primary surplus then it can't afford to cut taxes further and may have to, in fact, raise them:

The National Review argues that austerity isn't doing the trick......at least not in the short term......but eventually it will turn things around.
Mr National Review its been 7 years........people in Athens are burning their furniture to stay warm and Spain is exporting its young people under 30. What exactly does short term mean to you, Mr NR?

The truth is that since 2008, conservative economics have failed on so many levels and present so much confusion its disturbing. And yet, wingers hold on to them as if they are the holy grail.
Tim, if it doesn't make logical sense, then its BS. Trust. |
