It's almost an infinite problem to solve. And I think it misses the main point. How do billions of neurons, firing, or not, create a thought or muscle action or vision or smell? Neuroscience doesn't have a clue on how to bridge that mystery. So I think mapping is a stop gap until we can unlock the real secrets of how the brain works.
