I would encourage anyone with an interest to register with them to read the whole story. In a nutshell, describes why Amoco has installed an FC LAN. They are quoted as saying this is a first step (installing an FC LAN form servers to workstations) and that they will develop a separate storage configuration to further reduce the bottlenecks. They are connecting SGI and SUN workstations. Before anyone asks - they do not mention numbers of switches, but the article suggests that Amoco is continuing to be interested in FC. It also mentions full speed FC and the fact they are working on separate storage (that will probably use a full speed switch).
