I haven't bought or sold a house in 20 years so the current practices in the real estate business aren't something I'm that familiar with. It may be the six percent is already on the way out; but I'd read an article recently that talked about it as though it were still very much present tense.

There used to be a saying amongst realtors -- "If you don't list, you don't last..." referring to the need to get the listing dollars. It is easy money once you get the listing but agents did have to work hard for them sometimes.

I don't know, I've just never felt like realtors earn their money. It may just be me.
