Lessons I Have learned by This:
1. I had avoided biotech stocks for the past 10 to 15 years; that was after getting burned bad. Never again.
2. Recently - because it has been a good market year - I took some risks on DEPO, MRVT, FSON and PGNS. I sure got my year-end tax losses. Never again will I venture into the bio area. I look at my long-term investment in MRK and again confirm: this is the only way to deal with drugs.
3. When I see knowlegable, professional people - such as those on this thread - get burned it becomes very apparent what a crapshoot these biotechs are. Not only are we dealing with propritary knowledge, but also with boards which we have no clue as to what their thinking is.
4. I ll survive, but I am out of the bio area for good. I really feel for guys like you, Tom.
