In April 2015, the real unemployment rate (U-6) was 10.8%, exactly double the widely-reported unemployment rate (U-3) of 5.4% useconomy.about.com Note that the 10.8% number does not include those who have given up and not looked for a job in the past 12 months. Add that number and the actual unemployment rate would be even higher. One easy way to take unemployment to zero is to stop counting anyone who is without a job.
