Thanks, I swap drives frequently and drive letters haven't been much trouble as long as programs are installed on the same partition that the booted OS is installed on, but suspect that a future windows installation might be easier with Linux at the end of the drive.

Something else I plan to investigate is multi-booting versus virtual machines.
