It's typical with Microsoft history, but upgrade paths to Win-10 from 7 & 8 will follow whether the older system is 32 or 64 bit. In other words, people won't be able to upgrade for free from 32 to 64 bit or vice versa and people that wish to do so will be required to purchase Win-10 and perform "clean installs."
