ZeroHedge is a Russian website financed by the FSB, which is a combined Russian version of our Homeland Security and CIA. The ZeroHedge viewpoint always reflects the line the FSB is currently pushing. The FSB also has a center in the outskirts of Russia with three to four thousand employees who blog and post on websites in a number of target languages. The Soviet Union existed prior to the internet so their approach to planting stories was different, paying journalists in non-mainstream journals in hope of being picked up by more reputable publications without sufficient fact checking.
