| | | Ted, I see.........its not offensive when you all call Obama the affirmative action president but when a similar label is placed on one of your candidates, you all get into a snit. If you had constrained your "affirmative action" snipe to politics, then I would have no problem with it. In fact, I do agree that Ben Carson is being held up as a "token black guy" for the GOP. (For that matter, Carly Fiorina is also running as the GOP "token female candidate.")
But when you start accusing him of cheating on his medical credentials because you think he's another Sarah Palin, you have taken off the gloves.
You don't know jack about what medical professionals have to go through. Just because you're black, or Hispanic, or whatever, doesn't mean you get a free pass because the medical profession can't afford to give them out. If someone messes up, people die, plain and simple.
This is not the same as the Democrats getting their token black president, or the Republicans getting their token female running mate. In politics, it's a popularity contest, and image is everything. Unfortunately race and gender have become part of that image, and it seems the Republicans are stooping to the same level the Democrats are.
But when you say that Ben Carson became a surgeon only because of affirmative action, THAT'S when I have to tell you to go fuck yourself, because you are clearly basing that conclusion on the fact that he's a black Republican. What, you think accomplished black people have to be Democrats? You think Republicans are so stupid that any minority who's accomplished and successful must have been the beneficiary of affirmative action?
Seriously, go fuck yourself, you complete and utter loser.

P.S. - This is perhaps the main reason why I'm against affirmative action. You have the TeJERKs of this world telling you that you didn't get there on your own merit, that instead you got help from the white guys in charge. |
