There are reports that the train may have been struck by an "object" before the crash. Apparently, this happens quite often - trains get pelleted by rocks, bricks, what not - even bullets... Can't recall this ever being reported before. Late last night Google news showed several articles mentioning this - and this morning they're gone - replaced by stories about funding (again), by need for automatic speed controls, etc. Looks like our Nanny Press doesn't think we should know about certain things too much.
