A lot of people on this thread have been arguing that the Gartner Group estimate of $12,000/PC is ludicrous. I agree, but Andy Grove is on the side of the NC folks on this thread:

It looks like Oracle has convinced Intel of the need for an NC. They haven't convinced me, though.
