When the media said the Arctic ice was rapidly declining in 2007 and beyond the point of no return, they meant that it would stabilize and thicken over the next 8 years. And in 2007 when Al Gore said the sea-ice would be gone in 5 years, that's what he also meant with a large-increase in spring snow cover. Ambiguities.
