Whoa, the fix was in. They created a job just for you. Now that is pull! I'm familiar with that ... I came from IL. If you want a state or federal job, you talk to the right person and they call and make the arrangement. Someone tells you when and where to go apply, whose name to drop .. you have the job before you show up. Just like you just bragged about. Course you have to kick money back from each check. Just show up, pretend to work and get paid for the rest of your "working" life. You can't fail, you can't mess up. You don't just go and apply and get considered on the merits ... jobs are planned out and arrangements made to distribute them. If you don't have pull, your application goes in the trash, hell, they may not even let you apply. Not that I ever had that kind of job .. but I heard about them and knew people who got them.
