Sorry I didn't respond until now. We were on the road, and U.S. Customs almost didn't allow us to re-enter the country, on the grounds that my husband got out of the car to take off his coat, without permission. He was told that such an action could lead to forfeiture of our car and a fine of $10,000. I can think of better institutions in which to invest $10,000.
I see on our return that you kids have wrecked the house, so to speak, allowing a bunch of bears full run of the place. You've left the market in disarray. That's the last time we leave you home alone. We did make nightly phone calls to check up on things, with the help of Quotes Plus, which now runs seamlessly. But nightly downloads allowed us only to be mute witnesses to our own financial ruin. Next time, we're leaving all of you with a baby sitter, so the bears don't get in. We might have well have handed everything over to U.S. Customs.
If only we could apply some of the lessons we learned on the slopes to the slippery slope of the market. Instead we find ourselves lying in a tangle of ticker tape, feet in the air -- easy prey for those bears.
