Thanks
<unfortunately, on this one subject you are horribly, consistently misguided:).>
No Thanks :-)
<What , do you think we are going to end up with a Software/Technology Administration because the peoples legal representatives stepped in to protect the consumers' interests and further the technology progression that competition in a market stimulates?Fill me inb buddy, I am all ears.>
Well, for one, MSFT's stance is that they should be able to dictate what goes into their products. They also state that the market should, and would, decide what is acceptable and what isn't. The government should only step in if the people are being harmed due to exessive pricing pressure. This has not been doen. The DOJ wants to be notified BEFORE MSFT releases new softare (read thier latest petition). What do you call that, but a software version of the FDA? If they get away with it (if the judge rules in their favor), precedence is set and you better get a regulatory expert to sit next to your developemnt staff - your going to need him. When queried as to why he is attacking MSFT when they have the lowest browser prices, The NYS AG actually stuttered, he did not have an answer. He then replied that he wants to protect the future, but we are in the present. When MSFT does something wrong, then you attack, this pre-emptive stuff is guesswork and far from equitable. He then went on to say he wanted to protect the businesses in Silicon Alley. I want that, I am in Silicon Alley, but that is also corporate welfare. Anti-trust is to protect the consumer, not Silicon Alley or NSCP. I could go on, but I have a class to teach. I'll be back soon! |
