Windows machine gets slower over time and you need a geek to get it faster
Linux machine does not slows down over time

Typically, I roll my computers back every couple of months, which prevents the slowdown you describe. Also this method allows for specialized trialware which may be nice, but not worth purchasing due to infrequent use to be reinstalled when needed on the working drive.
