LOL! Your obsequious friends change the story every month. Now it's the shifting, man-made blocking regime. That's a doozy.

Why is it that anomalously cold temperatures and anomalously large gradients are always associated with these extreme events? Remember the plot I showed you? Message 30072793

Why are the tops of the thunderstorms so cold? Isn't the upper troposphere supposed to have a "hot spot" from man-made global warming?

Copied from your linked post:

Figure 3. Infrared satellite imagery shows the extremely cold cloud tops (gray) associated with the torrential rains in the Houston area on Monday night, May 25. Cloud-top temperatures at the height of the storms were colder than -100°F. Note the two eerie faces visible across southeast Texas! Image credit: NASA Earth Science Office, courtesy Stu Ostro.

How can such a low-energy, curvy jet create so much divergence aloft? Why do peer-reviewed publications and climate models attribute blocking regimes to barotropic instability?

Barotropic instability is essentially a measure of the horizontal wind shear. Weaker jet streams = weaker barotropic instability. Your pseudo-educated sycophants are truly ignorant and dynamically inconsistent.
