Tom:

You state:
> Jimmy Rodgers is a pretend professor/foreign currency trader who is a frequent guest on CNBC. He has been wrong by screaming that inflation is just around the corner for about a year and a half. He does have some credibility...

If you go and get the latest Webster dictionary and look for the meanings of the following words: imbecile, idiot, moron you will see 2 words are given as the description: Jimmy Rodgers along with his picture wearing his funny bowe tie with his idiotic smile!

This guy has been saying that the sky is falling on the US stock market since the DOW of 3500. In 96 he kept promoting to short all US high tech stocks (especially INTC, and MSFT) - he actually did so ! At the same time he was promoting to invest the money in things such as a tea factory in Sri Lanka, and a goat milking farm in Tabat! Earlier this year he, on CNBC's Squawk Box show, put his life on the line that the 30 year yeild will be at 8% or higher by November/December of this year!! When it kept droping to 6.5% he kept saying we will never ever see the yeild at 6% during his life time anyway!!!!

He continues to think Jimmy Carter is the president and we are still in the 1970's! The only reason he has become to be famous is because he co-managed the Quantum fund in the 70's which had great returns. However the main reason for the great performance is due to George Soros who was his boss/partner in managing the fund. George Soros left him in the late 70's. I have no idea why on earth CNBC keeps bringing this guy every Friday morning to its Squawk Box show. I guess they figure it is Friday and people do need a great laugh to start their weekend right!

Addi Jamshidi
