Hi Dave. Shege and Steve F and I have been having this conversation since June. Siebel is a company built on marketing. As Kevin Rose said many months ago, Siebel runs best on the PowerPoint platform. As is true with many companies products, real ROI takes a back seat to the ILLUSION of ROI.

The lack of ROI hasn't hampered Siebel's growth, however. Tom Siebel has been THAT good as the revenue growth has been phenomenal. It might be a little bit of smoke and mirrors but the results speak for themselves. If Siebel sold at a reasonable price and I could gain comfort that their margins still had decent upside, I would be in this stock based on the strength of their marketing and the critcal mass they are gaining. However, this stock has far too much hype surrounding it and I would much rather own a Peoplesoft, i2 and/or Manugistics than a Siebel at current prices.
