"2nd bright picture is that Lehman did downgrade the semi-conductor stocks. They mentioned about 7-8 of them. However AMAT was not mentioned about being downgraded. Weird, huh..???"

Not really. The Lehman analyst believes that Applied Materials is a company that specializes in synthetic fabrics. He thinks that the stock price will go up in a recession due to increased purchases of polyester as the consumer does everything possible to reduce their overhead.
