Ask yourself how many more there would be if we weren't already doing just that, and how many fewer there would be if we sacrificed just a bit more.
You didn't answer the question. How come the Bay Area doesn't "sacrifice just a bit more"?

The mecca of liberalism, the most altruistic of all Americans, can't figure out how to give up just a little bit more for the homeless and hungry, other than to talk about it and ask others to sacrifice.
