Thanks for the link Meta, it was an eye opening read.

I know this conversation has drifted off topic, but little else is going on here. Maybe this can drift a bit further till something CF related comes on topic?

It seems that the US is advancing towards renewables at a much faster rate than Canada. I was shocked to read they have already achieved the 280+ terrawatt/hours goal for 2020 already. For whatever reason, it seems the mainstream media has missed this important milestone or maybe I have just missed it being reported? You would think Obama would be heralding this achievement (or maybe saving it for the election race)?

I read a bit further on the website that the link came from and it seems that lithium batteries for storage IS the current plan and already being implemented. I don't understand the logic of that with the high cost and limited charge/recharge cycles of lithium batteries - and add to that the safe disposal problems and their tendency to occasionally melt down in spectacular fashion...

I can see that they are choosing to implement expensive and complicated storage systems with limited service life when cheaper, simpler and chemical free solutions would make more sense? Maybe its because they can't patent electrolysis or they wouldn't require such a high installation cost and maintenance/replacement. It seems everything in our world today is being advanced to line someone's pocket, and maybe choices such as the one to use uranium over thorium will continue not because its the right choice, but because there is an alternate agenda?

Or maybe influence from those in control are keeping alternate power costs high so they can continue to burn coal/NG? A large uncontrolled meltdown at a battery farm could be used to sway things back towards fossil fuels? Look how much damage just a small laptop battery can do, and with increasing energy densities being achieved these uncontrolled reactions could be incredibly destructive when looked at on a hundred megawatt scale?

On a Desert Fox related note - who do you think I should contact in Arizona if I wanted to do some "call the office" of my own regarding the likelihood of our project getting water rights to operate? Would it be state, county or township of Miami? I'm not sure how things are structured in Arizona and who makes these decisions?

I would like to hear from the horses mouth what chance there is of this project getting water. I know management says off the record that it will NOT be an issue, but if its really a snowball's chance in hell - I want to point that out before more money is sent down the drain...
