Bentway, What about a single mom or dad on minimum wage with kids? Is that OK with you? Of course it's not OK, but if you can help it, you really shouldn't have kids if you're still on a minimum wage job.
Most of these poor single parents, however, really couldn't help it, or they are making up for questionable decisions they made in their younger years. (I hesitate to say "in their youth" because a lot of them are still younger than I am, so to me they still are "young.") These are the people who get assistance, either from the government or their family and friends.
If we're going to help them, we should just continue giving them assistance, either in the form of our time or our money. Kind of stupid to try and overvalue their labor, because no matter what, there are economic consequences to that.
That's the real insanity of trying to tie wages to what people need instead of the value of what they produce. And for you to try and associate overvalued labor with what the Bible says is another example of you not getting it at all. (Not that you cared, anyway, since to you, the Bible is only something to throw at Christians.)
