From the comments by Meg Whitman

"For Hewlett Packard Enterprise, “Our services are the tip of the spear, where we begin the journey together” with customers, Ms. Whitman said. Mixed metaphors aside, while some updates on the company’s progress were expected later Wednesday, a real understanding of how this company will function is still five months away.Right now, the company’s most basic function is delivering computer hardware.

The so-called change management Hewlett Packard Enterprise will provide may ultimately be baked into the sales price of products and services, some of which were on shown at the Las Vegas convention. "

I HAVE TALKED WITH NUMEROUS Hewlett Packard people to get the warranty honored on a desk top that I bought for the purpose strictly of conducting correspondence on behalf of my oldest brother who has alzhiemers diagnosed at the Little Rock Veterans Hospital and for whom I ended up becoming the POA and spending 2 years of my life to help him in Arkansas (the reason I was not on SI for almost 2 years.).

Having no internet available on the mountain in Arkansas, I contacted HP and bought a Pavilion computer and printer strictly for the purpose of handling his correspondence with medical and affairs.

Yes the system worked without access to the internet nor a requirement that the computer be connected to the internet in Arkansas..

However, yes, less than a year after buying the computer, I returned to Va. I found my files for my brother locked.

I have talked with no less than 6 HP employees out of the USA with HP who claim they can unlock the files-----for $99.00. (referred by the 800 numbers to no avail)

I talked to the folks in Arkansas who sold the computer and they were horrified. But as Sales is one department the gentleman was horrified but could not address the problem of 'unlocking' the files, essential for conducting his affairs.

I have been a customer of HP for literally years-----and am appalled at HP having locked the files that should not have been locked ------as Microsoft moved in on the computer and installed without my permission or knowledge until I plugged in the computer to charge the battery when I returned to Va. --- somehow Microsoft had installed Windows 80 or 81-------without my knowing until I plugged the computer in to charge the battery.

$99.00 doesn't seem like a lot; however in this economy every $99.00 is important----particularly when the system was bought specifically to handle my brother's affairs.

I refuse to spend anymore hours on getting HP to fix the problem. Instead, I am considering filing my complaint with the appropriate Federal agency's .

Yes, I am a Hewlett Packard customer since the 1990's who will never buy more of their products nor recommend to others------.

To anyone reading this--------please print out any important papers and keep the paper copies.
