As to the gilded edge, they make their money, and they pay a hell of a lot more in taxes than you, me, or Bernie Sanders.
Often they simply steal their money, using bribery with elected and non-elected officials to move the laws in a direction that directly benefits their company. Obamacare is a major example, but hardly stands alone.

Their tax rate is barely above that of the rest of us. Add in all the perks that hide their income and they are undoubtedly paying a lower effective tax rate than most Americans.
