Heat Wave Kills 12 in New York

On July 9, 1912 as the humidity rose to 90% in New York City, the East coast is sweltering under a heat wave from Pennsylvania to Maine that threatens to break records. Last year at this time a massive heat wave killed 493 across the eastern seaboard. There has been no rain anywhere for 9 days and men and animals suffer alike. Even at the northern most point in Maine is was 80 at 8:00am in the morning.
