The average person doesn't know how to do all of the things needed for a system; that is we have to trust HP if we buy a computer to be sure the system is protected when we receive it or any other provider.

When I talk about the average person I am referring to an average person who does not have millions or hundred , or thousands to pay ransoms and to get the computers cleared of the viruses that 'they' stealthly infected our systems with.

In addition to the computer scams-------now we have the telephone scams-------these are rampant -----our police department has a reporting system on these.

In the 1980's we had neighborhood watch systems that worked to stop the crooks that entered businesses and homes to steal. Now the crooks just walk right in on the communication systems-----regular electrical lines, telephone lines, cell phones, computers--------burglar alarms and the watch systems that are being used in place of real live nurses in the Senior homes.

The telephone calls now are crooks pretending to be IRS ------this one is a financial crime so I think that this one is being worked. There was an on line firm that people used to file-----refunds were redirected. That's why one does not file on line. This is considered "financial crime"-----so maybe this will be taken seriously.

Yes, "for $99.00 I can fix the problem by accessing your computer. But, I need the identification for your computer" this from each person with Hp (theroretically) that I spoke with.. I consider this financial crime also.

I wonder why the police who paid the ransom did not lay a trap and arrest the guy/gals who were doing the scam you mentioned?
