Why of course Sam, for starters voting should be limited to white, middle aged, landowners.
While I disagree with Sam's advocacy for voting qualification, I also disagree with your counterargument.

But I kind of get your point. Who gets to decide what qualifications are necessary to become a voter?

Seems like in Texas, you have to know the 2nd amendment by heart, while here in California, you have to know who Che Guevera is.
