If you are in an area where anthracite can be had, consider a stove that burns coal. Used one now for 5 years and would never go back to wood.

no green wood, wet wood, rotted wood, frozen wood....etc.

2x the btu's and no smoke from chimney.

heat without evidence of burning.

one load can last 2 days on a fall or spring chill.

no creosote.

runs about $250 a ton and I used a little over 2 tons last year to heat 1800 sqft sometimes with the living room at 90*
