The "Inequality Lie": Someone else, like the Koch Brothers, having billions of dollars, somehow affects poor people negatively. It doesn't. There is no evidence it does, at all. And there is no reason even that it might. They are literally unrelated concepts. The "Inequality Truth:" The top-tier of wealth is not comprised of a single group of people. Over half of people in the country will at some point be in the top tier of wealth. Any person owning a home outright in San Francisco, then sells it, will be the in the top wealth tier until that money is spent; which could for a month, a year, or many years. A minuscule number of people are persistently in the top tier -- people like Gates, Buffet, etc. H/T Thomas Sowell.
